Project Summary

Clapham Road saw the development of 62 one, two and three-bedroom apartments as well as two floors of flexible commercial property. Working for Regal London this 9-storey building also accommodates individual balconies for the residential units which Build-Therm also delivered.

The mechanically fixed natural clay brick slips were installed across several new elevations to achieve the required design. The choice of the bricks was selected to complement the surrounding prestigious buildings.  They included a textured dark, glazed white and smooth off-white all completed with a light-coloured adhesive mortar which enhanced the properties of kerb appeal.

In addition to the brick slips, we installed concealed fix rainscreen system cladding. This was utilised on the balconies and upper level of the building providing a contrasting textural aspect to the build.

Special Features

On the front elevation of Clapham Road, it featured dark bricks with a stacked bond brick formation. However stacked bond is a form, where vertical or horizontal joints between the bricks are lined up. By using mechanically fixed brick slips we can achieve the modern design, without the requirement for additional structural support, that would have been required if we used its traditional counterpart.
