About this project
Build-Therm was contracted by Wates to improve both the thermal and aesthetic appearance of over 100 houses across the Stevenage area. The houses constructed in the late ’40s and early 50s needed a boost to rejuvenate the area as well as make it more efficient.
The EWI system specified 90mm EPS insulation and high-performance render to achieve an impressive 0.30 W/m²K u-value, down from the original 1.98 W/m²K ratings. The result not only provided a visual improvement but an environmental improvement with results in economic benefits for the residents that last the test of time.
Agron Sopjani, our director of Operations responsible for the Stevenage program said: “The application process is very straightforward enabling our site teams to make good progress. Cutting the u-values down to these levels is impressive and the external finishes lift the whole residential area. It’s clean and bright and together with the improved thermal performance it’s a real winner.”
